Marvin E. “Bus” Harr, 71, Large Cove Tannery, handed away Monday, August 15, 2022, at Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born in Large Cove Tannery, August 18, 1950, a son of the late Virginia M. ( Gordon) and Ernest G. Harr.

He served six years within the Nationwide Guard from July 13, 1969 to July 12, 1975. He then went on to work for Harr’s Building earlier than proudly owning and working Harr’s Grocery in Large Cove Tannery. He later labored for Western Maryland Hospital.

He was a member of the Unbiased Nook Church in Large Cove Tannery. He loved watching the “Value Is Proper,” “Wheel of Fortune,” “Jeopardy” and the information. He beloved spending time along with his niece, Sherry, and sister, Martha. He beloved animals, particularly his canines and cats.

He’s survived by his sister, Marie E. (spouse of Larry) Stine, Chambersburg brothers: Merrill E. (husband of Jackie) Harr, Large Cove Tannery; Morrow E. (husband of Linda) Harr, Large Cove Tannery; and Marlin E. (Nancy) Harr, Large Cove Tannery; his sisters-in-law: Beulah Harr, Chambersburg; Elaine Harr, Clear Springs, Md.; and Robin Harr, McConnellsburg; and quite a few nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in loss of life by sisters: Martha Harr and Mary E. Intelligent; brothers: Max E., Mark E., Mervin E., Myron E. and Melvin E. Harr; a brother-in-law, Robert Intelligent; and a sister-in-law Hildagard Harr.

Funeral companies had been held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Residence Inc., McConnellsburg, at 11 a.m., Friday, August 19. Pastor Dick Bernhard officiated. Interment was at Union Cemetery McConnellsburg, Army honors had been performed by Fulton Honor Guard.
